Dr. Moniche he has a wide experience in decision-making for stroke patients as he is the coordinator of the stroke group in Hospital Virgen del Rocio (Seville), one of the hospitals in which more patients are treated every year in Spain. Dr. Moniche is a stroke neurologist with extensive experience in clinical and translational investigations. He has a degree of Medicine and did his PhD in Seville University. In 2008, he did a Research Fellowship in the Department of Neurology, Research Division in the Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI, USA. He received the Young Stroke Physicians and Researchers Workshop Award in the European Stroke Organization Conference 2019. He is the head of Stroke Unit in Virgen del Rocio University Hospital, a Comprehensive Stroke Centre that covers an area of 2.5 million people in the south of Spain. With more than 150 thrombolysis and 475 thrombectomies during the year 2019, the Virgen del Rocio University Hospital has become one of the top stroke centers in Europe. He has published more than 60 peer-review papers and he has been PI of more than 25 international stroke clinical trials. Besides, he is chair of the Stroke group inside the Spanish Neurological Society (SEN).
