Afifah, known as Afi, has a degree in dentistry from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. After obtaining her degree, she dived into clinical practice at several dental clinics, in a start-up company, and as a medical writer. Her experience of volunteer work at university enabled her to view life through the lens of whose who need to improve their quality of life through better healthcare, which sparked her interest in global health.
Afi became an Angels Consultant in 2024 after discovering how impactful the work of Angels was in changing lives. She believes that when a person becomes disabled as a result of stroke, it not only changes the life of the patient but also the lives of those around them. She feels honoured and grateful to be a part of the Angels Initiative, and highly motivated to give people in Indonesia the chance to be disability-free and well, even after suffering a stroke.
